This group will be meeting each month to plan strategies to take the pre-school forwards over the forthcoming months. This will include planning some fund raising events that we hope you will support in any way you can. I am sure that we would all like to Thank this group of people for putting their names forward to take on this role and look forward to the year ahead.
We have also had a number of parents make offers of help to the pre-school who were not able to commit to joining the committee – Thank You
Moving onto School
Applications can be made to Derbyshire County Council from next week for a place at primary school for your child to start in September 2015. You can look on the Derbyshire County Council website for more details on how to do this.
This has been so successful that we are looking to put in some new books to add more choice for the children. If you have any unwanted age appropriate books at home that you no longer have use for please think about donating them to pre-school for this purpose.
There are 5 bags regularly in use for parents to take home and share with their child. We are looking to increase this range so please let us know if there are any books you would like to see offered in this range.
Names, Names, Names
Can we please remind you to write your child’s name in all their outdoor clothing so that we can help your child find their own clothes and encourage them as they develop their skills in dressing independently.
Please try and remember to sign your child in when they arrive at pre-school and use this book to pass on messages about change of collection time. If you are not aware of this procedure please ask a member of staff who will point you in the right direction.
Halloween Fund Raiser
Thank you for your speedy return of the pumpkin and ghost pots to pre-school.
We have 2 new practitioners joining the staff team this month – Kimberly and Laura are both mums of young children and have experience of working with young children in different settings. We look forward to them getting to know the children and joining in their play and activities. Please introduce yourself to them as you see them around the setting.
These are in pre-school on Friday 14th November between 11.30 and 1.30pm. We shall be having photos taken of the children in during the morning session unless you advise us differently. Between 12.30 and 1.30 you are welcome to bring your children and any siblings along if they are not in on this day to have a portrait taken of them looking beautiful. These pictures make super Christmas gifts for family and friends. If you want to come in during this hour please speak with Jane to arrange a time slot.
Please book sessions asap for next year (Jan 2015) as some days are now full.
