Autumn News

Good morning

As we move into the lower temperatures of Autumn with more seasonal weather can I remind you to send children with outdoor clothing that is appropriate to the weather of the day and is clearly labelled with the name. We do play outside for a lot of the session so adequate clothing is necessary. If they come in big boots or wellies can you bring another pair of indoor footwear fort them to change into. Please avoid bringing clothes/shoes in plastic bags as these are a hazard to young children.

Physical Development – One area of development that we work with all the children to encourage is their independence in being able to locate their own coat, hat gloves etc. and to be able to put these on or take them off themselves. We show the children how to use their coat hood that gives them a super hero cape over their shoulders where they can then push their arms into the sleeves themselves. If you continue this at home it will support their progress and encourage their self-care.

Funding – Please ensure you re-validate your child’s Extended Funding if this applies to you. Don’t let it enter the grace period as this will affect your funding for next term. If you are considering applying for Extended funding, this is funding in addition to the 15 hours that all 3 & 4 year olds are eligible for you need to do this before the beginning of December. If you are unsure about this process please have a word with Jane.
If your child is 3 years old before Christmas you should have received an application form in their tray – this needs completing and returning so we can apply for Government Funding. Without this form I cannot make this application and you will miss out.

Laundry – The rota for parents to take the laundry is available on the door outside. Please have a look and put your name down to take the bag of washing. Many Thanks to those who do this small task for us as it is a great help for quite a little effort.

Autumn Fund Raiser – We have had a good number of the pumpkin/ghost pots returned with your change etc. If you still have yours at home please bring it back in as we do re-use these. We have had really good support for this fund raiser and I will let you know the total once we have counted all the pennies. Thank You So Much.

We have been successful in our application to the Co-Op’s Local Community Fund initiative that will make money for us if you are a member and register your membership card to Ridings Pre-School. Every time you shop for Co-Op products they will make a donation to the pre-school’s account. Please help us with this – its really simple if you log onto the Co-op Local community Fund and select the community option it will take you to the list of charities chosen at this time.I managed it so it must be easy!!!!
Thank You for your support
